As on the eve of every Champions League night, the Chairman spoke to the media just ahead of the team's trip to Manchester for their decisive clash at Old Trafford. Without thinking about what happened against Valencia, Castro showed himself to be confident of reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League

José Castro spoke to the media first thing in the morning this Monday at Sevilla Airport, where the team gathered for their journey to Manchester for the last-16 of the Champions League: "We're excited and we can't be anything else. We're going to try and be brave in an iconic stadium and against a great opponent, we're excited as we can only be by the prospect of achieving something important, which is being in the quarter-finals 60 years later".

The Chairman was aware of the difficulties involved but trusted his side: "Every knockout tie is difficult at this level because all your opponents outweigh you in budget by many times. We're aware that we have the chance to make history and we have to try and take our chances, which is what we've been missing. Our play has been very good and we're just missing bite, being lethal in front of goal".

"All knockouts are difficult at this level because your opponents outweigh you in budget"

"After the match at the Wanda Metropolitano, which was a turning point, and after what just happened, what we're missing is goals. But the team is having good matches, we're building well and the goal will come because it always does when you're playing like we are now, like we did against Valencia. We should have won but they were more clinical. We have to be clear, we haven't had bite from the beginning because there are players who are only now performing at their best level. We have conceded more goals than we've scored and that says it all".

Asked about what he's expecting to see tomorrow, he said: "We're expecting a Sevilla we see on big nights, a great of European football in the past years. We're definitely going to play well because the team knows how important it is, it's been the implication of everything since Montella arrived".

He also spoke about Jesús Navas' injury: "In past years we've had bad luck in key positions. We saw a lot of centre-backs getting injured and now it's a lot of right-backs apparently. Corchia got injured when he was playing his best and it seems he's taking longer than expected. Navas also when he was playing best and Layún can't play because he's cup-tied. The coach now needs to show his professionalism to deal with it".

"In the last years we've had a lot of bad luck in key positions. Now it seems it's with right-backs"

Looking back to La Liga, he did not concede any objective was lost: "Nothing is impossible. We're further back because of the loss on Saturday which was an injustice that truly hurt but nothing is impossible. The team will keep going until the end but we will also think about other things because we have a cup final and this marvellous opportunity. We have to move forward".
