On the 8th of July 2016, Francisco José Pardo Garrido, a player more commonly known as Fran Carles and Captain of Linares Deportivo, died tragically after suffering a fatal haemorrhage at just 26 years of age. His sudden death shocked the world of football and Sevilla FC, who experienced something similar with the loss of Antonio Puerta, promised to take part in a friendly in memory of the player, whereby profits will be donated to the players family.

The match will take place on Monday the 21st of May at 20:00pm at the Estadio Municipal de Linarejos. It will be the last game of the season for Sevilla FC, who just 2 days prior, on Saturday the 19th of May, will bring their La Liga campaign to a close with a home match against Alavés.
