GANSO: "I'M HOPING TO STAY AND DO GREAT THINGS"

The Brazilian is not worried about the lack of opportunities he has had in his first campaign and showed his optimism for the future after adapting to "a completely different type of football"

Ganso has started in both of the last two matches, demonstrating the tremendous quality that he possesses and which makes him a unique player. His place in the starting line up arrived late, although the Brazilian midfielder is relaxed about it, as he recognised in an interview with Sevilla FC media. "It's been a good year, I've been adapting to the city and learning Spanish bit by bit," he noted, trying to be positive, although he admits that he was hoping to play more. He is not getting carried away with that idea, however, as he points out that he has plenty of time ahead of him: "Yes, yes, but as is the case for lots of Brazilians it's always more difficult in the first year. The adaptation is not easy, because it's a completely different type of football. I hope that I can play more next season".

For now though, he's enjoying the present and his good performances after not getting on to the pitch for three and a half months: "The adaptation is not easy, but I think that with lots of effort and a lot of work, I'm going to keep improving and growing bit by bit... I always want to improve and obviously I want to succeed at Sevilla."

He was also clear that he will be at Sevilla FC next season: "Yes, I hope that I can stay, and, as I've said, that I can do great things at this club".

If he were to consolidate his place at the club, he would by no means be the first Brazilian to enjoy success in Nervión. Dani Alves, Baptista, Renato, Adriano and Luis Fabiano all did so before him and a number of them found it difficult at the start too: "they're players of great technical quality who succeeded at Sevilla and I hope that I can create a really nice story like theirs".

Ganso did not agree with the idea that Spanish football is more physical than the Brazilian game and that this prevents him from showing his best: "No, I don't think it's more physical. I see that there's also lots of technical and tactical quality".

In terms of what he has liked most about the club, the Brazilian international mentioned "the people, because of how they welcomed me. They're like Brazilians, because I didn't speak much Spanish and they've been patient with me. I've loved that".

And finally, the compulsory question: Is third place a possibility? "Yes, we're fighting with a great team and we have great players to finish third". he replied.
