Sevilla's central defender Simon Kjaer did the honour of opening this month's round of international fixtures for Sevilla FC during Easter's international break. He did so as part of Denmark's starting eleven in a victory in Brondby over Panamá (who have also qualified for the World Cup). Kjaer, Denmark's captain, started as the right centre-back in a pairing with Huddersfield Town's Mathias Jørgensen.

That being said, Kjaer was also the first to be substituted by Age Hareide just after an hour had passed. He was replaced by FC Copenhagen's Nicolai Boilsen. Kjaer, in that regard, was not on as long as Celta Vigo's Pione Sisto who scored the winning goal for Denmark. The Scandinavian side will now play their final game of the international break against Chile next Tuesday in Aalborg.

Another Sevillista to have minutes this Thursday on an international stage was Carlos Fernández, who came on in Spain U-21's 3-5 victory over Northern Ireland in qualification for the 2019 Euro Championships. The academy youngster replaced Borja Mayoral, who had already scored a hat-trick.
