Sevilla FC has signed an agreement for the opening of the seventh Sevilla FC Soccer Academy in the city of Koriyama, located in the Fukushima province of Japan - a country where professional football is at the height of expansion. This agreement allows Sevilla FC to continue its process of internationalisation and lend a helping hand in the development of an area that greatly suffered following the nuclear disaster of March 2011.

The club is continually broadening its horizons and exporting its academy model on an international scale, following the six soccer schools already agreed for the United States: California, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Texas. It should also be remembered that Sevilla FC went on a preseason tour to Japan last summer.

President José Castro didn't hide his satisfaction with the new project: “The signing of this agreement that will allow us to open a new academy in Fukushima constitutes another step forward in the growth of Sevilla FC on a global scale. This project will place us within an emerging and important country in the world of football,  somewhere we hope to successfully establish our academy model”.
