Denmark is set to play a World Cup qualifier, either directly or through the playoff, in their next two international fixtures in October. Sevillista Simon Kjaer will be present in both matches, called up by selector Åge Hareide. Denmark is currently third in its group, but lacking two matches, seeing the team equal with those ranked in second place, Montenegro, and only 3 below leaders of the group Poland.

It seems vital for the Scandinavian side that they win on Thursday the 5th of October against Montenegro in Podgorica, this way they would guarantee second in the group in the last game, in which they would host Romania with nothing at stake. The last match will be played on Sunday the 8th of October in Copenhagen.
