SEVILLA FC WILL FINISH 2020 AS THE EIGHTH BEST TEAM ON EUROPEAN COEFFICIENTS

Sevilla FC will end 2020 as part of the top eight European clubs according to the UEFA coefficient system. The Nervionenses are eighth in the table with 97.000 points. They are level on points with Manchester United but have overtaken them in the table due to their superior points tally in 20/21, with Sevilla gaining 8.00 more coefficient points than the English club.

It was the last match of the group stages that Sevilla managed to leapfrog Manchester United when they beat Stade Rennais and United fell to defeat against RB Leipzig. The two results confirmed Sevilla, who started the year in ninth place, would recover the position they had in 19/20, the team with the eighth highest coefficient rank. Sevilla are just behind Paris Saint-Germain who have 9.00 more points. The coefficients are calculated by taking into account all European results from up to five seasons ago, in this case 15/16, and the current season in play.

Furthermore, the Club are in sixth position if only this season is taken into account. They share that spot with Liverpool, Porto, and Borussia Dortmund - our rivals in the Round of 16. In the knock-out rounds, 2.00 points are awarded for a win, 1.00 for a draw, and 1.00 for advancing to the next round.
