Athletic Club against Sevilla FC, on the 21st La Liga Santander Matchday will be played at San Mamés kicking off at 10:00 pm.

Sevilla FC come into the game with 38 points, eight above the relegation zone and nine away from the UEFA Conference League spot. Athletic Club are meanwhile on 46 points, battling for a UEFA Europa League spot, and come into the match on a good run of form with three consecutive wins. 

The last three meetings 

In the 2019/2020 season, Banega and Munir scored the goals in the Sevilla victory at San Mamés in a match in which the home side had taken the lead thanks to Capa's goal. A year later, the home team would beat Sevilla, with goals from Muniain and Sancet, after En-Nesyri had opened the scoring. In 2021/22, Julen Lopetegui's side came away with a win a 1-0 win at the San Mamés thanks to a Thomas Delaney goal. 


Marcos Acuña returns after serving his two-game suspension. José Luis Mendilibar will not be able to call upon Marcao, Joan Jordán, and Nianzou. The Frenchman, due to some muscle discomfort, will not be available. Ernesto Valverde will not be able to call upon Morcillo and Muniain due to injury, nor Vesga and Zárraga due to suspensions. 


Alejandro Hernández Hernández will referee Sevilla FC for the third time this season. With him as referee, Sevilla have drawn away against Villarreal CF and won at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán against Cádiz CF. In total Sevilla have 15 wins, 6 draws and 7 losses in matches he has officiated. After refereeing the goalless draw between the Basque team and Real Betis at the Benito Villamarin, it will be the second time this season that he will referee Athletic Club.
