On Tuesday night in the presidential suite of the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, an opening ceremony took place organized by Sevilla FC in order to officially start the World Football Summit, which takes place in the city today and tommorow. All those speaking at the event attended the ceremony, amounting to over 150 people.

Among the attendees were the directors of the WFS, Marian Otamendi and Jan Alessie, as well as the President of Sevilla FC José Castro, the Vice-President José María del Nido Carrasco and the club's General Manager José María Cruz. Through this event the club will once again display its commitment to innovation and the football industry.

Closing out the night, José Castro addressed all those present, extending his welcome to the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán and to the WFS:

"For us it is a great honour to host the WFS in our city. I always say that this is the most football-loving city in all of Spain, as Sevilla and Betis have more than 100,000 season-ticket holders between them, and more than 10% of the city's residents are members of one club or the other. This stadium is a site of footballing heritage."

"In our home we have hosted a World Cup Semi-Final, a European Cup Final and a UEFA Europa League Final, the organisation of which was a real success. I want you all to enjoy the experience, the stadium and the event which continue over the next couple of days."
