One crucial aspect of the team's transformation during the second half of the season has been defensive solidity, with Ørjan Nyland playing a key role between the sticks. He has only conceded twice over the last five games - a penalty against Real Betis and RCD Mallorca's late consolation goal. Sunday's clean sheet against Granada CF was the fourth in the last ten games; Valencia CF, Getafe CF, UD Las Palmas and Granada were all unable to find a way past our Norwegian wall.

Nyland's individual statistics speak for themselves. He has the second highest save percentage in LaLiga with 78.7%; only Real Madrid's Andriy Lunin has a higher percentage (79.3%). In addition, he has conceded the third fewest goals in the league with 19 goals against in the 20 games he has played. Only Athletic Club's Unai Simón and Lunin have conceded fewer.

It is worth mentioning that the Norwegian has missed ten league games through injury this season. With only four games remaining until the end of the season, he will not be able to reach the 28 appearances mark required to be eligible for the Zamora Trophy, awarded to the goalkeeper with the lowest goals-to-games ratio in LaLiga.
