Cristian Toro will leave his role as head coach of Sevilla FC Women at the end of the current season. The Argentine coach was brought in during December 2018 to help the team avoid relegation. Not only did he achieve that, but since then his five-year project at the club has seen Sevilla FC Women go from strength to strength, regularly finishing in the top half of the table

During the 172 games he has overseen from the dugout (162 Liga F as of the end of the season and 10 in the Copa de la Reina), there have been many memorable moments, including big upsets against Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid and an impressive draw against an in-form FC Barcelona. He has also taken charge of many derby wins and had good runs in the Copa de la Reina, reaching the semi-finals on two separate occasions. In addition, he has won the regional Copa de Andalucía twice.

However, the Argentine has now taken the decision to step away from the role, having informed the club's hierarchy and his squad in recent days that now was the right moment to bring his tenure to a close and that he believes it is time for someone else to build upon his work from the last five-and-a-half years.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Cristian Toro for his incredible effort over the years and for all the wonderful moments that he has brought to our club. Hopefully his final five games in charge will be a true representation of his time at the club, in what has been a record-breaking five years for Sevilla FC Women.
