CHICHARITO PICKS UP THE AWARD FOR MEXICO IN THE 'REAL ALCÁZAR SOLIDARITY AWARDS'

It's the 16th edition of the 'Real Alcázar Solidarity Awards', taking place during the 'Festival of Nations' which is currently happening in Sevilla

Last night, Tuesday 22nd October, in an unmistakebale and a symbolic place in the city of Seville such is the Real Alcázar, the 16th edition of the 'Real Alcázar Solidarity Awards' took place. The event which currently taking place in the city is the Festival of Nations, and Mexico is the guest country. Sevilla FC's frontman, Chicharito Hernández, who was accompanied by Sporting Director, Monchi, picked up the award on behalf of the guest country for "perfectly embodying Mexico's reunion with the city that hosts the awards, and it does so through a sport which awakens the passion of all Sevillistas".

The ceremony took place in the Tapestry Hall and was presided over by the mayor of the city, Juan Espadas, and managed by Antonio Pulido - President of the Cajasol Foundation. Executive President of the Festival of Nations, Sergio Frenkel, was also present. Before Chicharito received the award, the Argentinian ambassador in Spain, Federico Ramón Puerta, handed over the baton to the the Mexican ambassador, Roberta Lajous Vargas.

After taking to the stage, the Sevilla FC forward emphasized that "the warmth of the people and the passion" is what makes the Sevillians stand out. "Here, they always ask you how you are and how the day is going. I come from a colder country like England where life goes faster. All this makes the people of Seville and the city very special and I hope to be here for a long time, even if right now, I haven't been here for very long".
