JESÚS NAVAS BECOMES THE SIXTH PLAYER TO MAKE 500 LALIGA APPEARANCES FOR THE SAME TEAM

Having started against Cádiz CF, Jesús Navas has become the 13th player to make 500 LaLiga appearances. Andoni Zubizarreta and Joaquín Sánchez are the players with most appearances (622) while Raúl García has made 606. In terms of our past and present players that make the list, Paco Buyo played 542 games, Sergio Ramos has 534 appearances and Miquel Soler 504.

That being said, none of the aforementioned players have reached this milestone representing only one club. Navas, having only played for us in LaLiga, is now the sixth player to manage this feat. Manolo Sanchís, Raúl González and Iker Casillas all made 500 LaLiga appearances for Real Madrid while Lionel Messi and Xavi Hernández did the same at FC Barcelona.

To enter the list of top 10 most appearances in LaLiga history, Navas must surpass Casillas's 510, which won't be possible this season given that there are only two games remaining. Our captain recently made his 600th start in all competitions and has now played in 688 matches, firmly establishing himself as a legend of the club.
