JULES KOUNDÉ BOLSTERS THE SEVILLA FC BACKLINE

Jules Koundé (Paris, 12th of November 1998) has become Sevilla's fifth signing of the 19/20 transfer window. The young defender, who arrived in Seville last night, has passed his medical this morning and signed a contract that will keep him at the Club until 2024.

Grown in the Bordeaux academy, Koundé is a 20 year old centre-back in his second season in the French top-flight. He debuted in the 17/18 season, and quickly became one of the sensations of French football.

In the 18/19 season, he played 51 matches - barely missing a game - with 37 appearances in Ligue 1. A versatile defender, Koundé has even been deployed at full-back. He also boasts a fine disciplinary record, picking up just 5 yellow cards last season. 

Koundé is Sevilla's second reinforcement in defence, after the arrival of Diego Carlos from Nantes in June.
