Sevilla FC and Getafe CF have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of David Soria to the Madrid-based Club. The goalkeeper still needs to pass a medical and sign his contract. Sevilla will have the option to repurchase the keeper in the next two seasons.
Soria leaves Sevilla FC after five seasons with the Club. He joined the Sevilla C ranks in 2013 before quickly making the leap to Sevilla Atlético. In the 15/16 season, he became the back-up option for the First Team, making his debut in the Europa League and playing impressively in the tournament before being declared a champion in Basel against Liverpool. After his unforgettable 15/16, Soria fought for a First Team place but was plagued by injury during the 16/17 and 17/18 seasons. In the latter, he would finish the season as first-choice.
Soria has made 36 appearances, has won one title and won the affection of the fans and Club. Both have recognised Soria as a consummate professional who has never given up in the fight for his opportunity. Sevilla wishes him success and luck in his new adventure.
