Sevilla FC is delighted to announce a long-term extension to its existing agreement with Stats Perform, which will see the club’s performance analysis and recruitment departments continue to use the company’s Opta data and software solutions to support various day-to-day operations.
As part of the agreement, Sevilla’s technical staff will have access to detailed live performance data, comprising on-field location coordinates for over 3,000 on-ball events from each match, for 30 different competitions played around the world. This data, together with a number of advanced AI performance metrics and video, will be available to club data analysts via Stats Perform’s ProVision analytics software.
In addition, Sevilla’s global recruitment operation will continue to use Stats Perform’s ISF scouting management system to centrally manage reports and other information collected by club scouts based around the world.
This combination of data, software and integrated video footage will be used to support Sevilla’s key pre-match, in-game and post-match workflows throughout the remainder of 2022-23 and beyond.
Antoine David, VP Sales – South Europe, Stats Perform said: “Our relationship with Sevilla goes back over 15 years and we are delighted that they continue to recognise the value of both Opta data and our industry-leading software in how it supports key performance operations. We are committed to helping the club achieve its main objectives, both on and off the field, and are looking forward to supporting their staff in maximising the benefits of the solutions available, as we continue to develop and enhance our services.”
Ramón Rodríguez Verdejo “Monchi”, Football General Manager, said: “We have been trying to be at the forefront of scouting processes for more than 15 years. During these years, our relationship with leading technology providers such as Opta has given a boost to all this work. We hope that this agreement will allow us to continue developing our talent recruitment processes. This is consistent with our innovation strategy”.
“The Sevilla FC Innovation Center can be defined as the meeting point for the development of R&D projects that allow us to respond to new trends and demands in the sector. The club's commitment to innovation is demonstrated on a daily basis by the 21 professionals dedicated to research and development of technologies, which has so far resulted in the creation of its own applications such as 'AiTracking', for the registration of training rights on transfers of former players and from which the commercialisation of Transfer Tracker has been derived together with LaLiga Tech. Sevilla FC understood many years ago that there is only one way to fight against the big budgets of its sporting rivals, both in Spain and in Europe: differentiation. We tried to revolutionise the world of transfers with a different scouting system that created a school, and today the key lies in innovation and technological development. Sevilla FC has been able to provide itself with new added value, promoting the most efficient use of data possible, not only in the sporting sphere but in all the Club's business areas.”
