ARIAS: “LEGANÉS HAVE DONE MUCH MORE THAN THE REST OF US TO BE HERE”

Director of Football, Óscar Arias, seconds after finding out Sevilla's Copa del Rey semi-final opponent - a Leganés side who knocked-out Real Madrid in the quarters - spoke to the press, admitting his relief at having avoided Barcelona: "who were the strongest team left but after that everyone is difficult. Logically, Valencia have more potential and resources, while Leganés are more humble but looking at the journey of each team, Leagnés have done a lot more to be where we are and we have to respect that".

In fact, matching their excitement will be the most difficult thing: "The excitement they have and the competition they're having makes them a team to be feared in this tie and they'll make things very difficult for us. They've got through two ties on the basis of hard work, sacrifice and playing very well - competing on the same level against stronger teams than them. All of this needs to be taken into account, knowing that if we don't do our bit, they'll make things very difficult for us". 

"We're all aware of our chances of putting ourselves in the final. It's a 180-minute semi-final but luckily we play the second-leg in our stadium in front of our own fans; the other day was an example of what it means to play at home. We feel very excited about this latest tie given our chance to play in the final - which is a huge incentive for everyone".
