Manager Eduardo Berizzo praised the work of his squad following the crucial clash against Spartak Moscow paying particular attention to the first "seventy or seventy-five minutes. They played extremely well and we deserved to win the match 3-0. Ben Yedder's chance on the line would have crowned a more comfortable victory".
Berizzo was also happy with other aspects of the game: "We played with dynamism, with pressure in the opponent's half and with depth in our attack. We did a great job against a good team and we were successful in our counter-attacks".
The Sevilla FC coach also said: “considering the opponent and the competition, I believe this was one of our best games this season”.

With regards to qualification for the knock-out stages, Berizzo emphasised "we still need to play Liverpool and Maribor, we needed a win today. This result puts us in a qualifying spot in the group and now we're only relying on ourselves ".
Asked about the knocks of Mercado, Sarabia, and Banega he said "when you make rotations, you need to predict these things. Now we need to recover from the effort we made". Giving more detail on the injuries, he said: "Sarabia twisted his ankle, but above all else, he was exhausted after a huge effort. Mercado overstretched his hamstring and Banega overworked his thigh. Bodies let you know when you're feeling fatigue".
Finally, asked about October overall, he said: "football has moments, circumstances that test your conviction, test what you do. We've passed these tests re-imposing ourselves in the situation and confronting it with professionalism".
