Club President, José Castro, addressed the Sevilla fans that attended the meeting of the Aruncitana de Morón supporters' club, in what was the 38th anniversary of the restructuring of said organisation. Castro repeatedly made one thing clear to those present: "The reality is that these small groups are the basis of Sevilla's fanbase. It's a great achievement that you have been running for 38 years, because everyone knows how hard it is to keep things moving forward. On our behalf, we will make the necessary effort to have the best team possible. We had the opportunity economically speaking, and the positioning in La Liga in order to bring in the players that came. We've taken a look at the sporting project. For us, you aren't going to get the best team without investing in the infrastructure. This is going to be the beginning of better things to come".
CASTRO: "SPEAKING ABOUT FAILING ISN'T ALLOWED AT THIS CLUB"
"There's no quick fix; we can only continue to keep on improving and growing as a club. We have the foundations in place to be a big club and this is inevitable. We will have a better team and we will be bigger, but we need the help of our fans and supporters' clubs. We want to see the team go to the very top of a competition as hard as the Spanish league and qualify for Europe and the Champions League whenever possible. It won't just be the work of the team, but everyone connected to the club because success is earned by all. Speaking about failing isn't allowed at this club", he continued. After his speech, the President spent about half an hour taking photos with the fans, speaking with the supporters and talking to the local media.
"We have the foundations in place to be a big club"
José Castro headlined the meeting and was accompanied by his advisor Luis Castro and the vice-President of the Supporters' Club Federation, Paco Romero.
Moreover, on Tuesday 22nd October, the supporters' group Aruncitana de Morón were celebrating. And, it wasn't for nothing. The aforementioned supporters' club was celebrating the 38th year since its restructuring in its headquarters. It's a building that dates back at least a century; it covers around 350 metres squared and is the pride and joy of the Sevillistas in the town. In its day, the supporters' club boasted roughly 1000 members, which in the last few years dropped to around 300. Now, with the arrival of a new management team, it is now on the road back up and has nearly reached 500. They organise initiatives and events that help everyone, such as the bus that takes fans to the matches, and they're always packed out.
The President of the group, José Antonio Camacho was accompanied by his vice-President, Antonio Morilla. The President spoke about the new times ahead for the organisation after four months under the same leadership: "We wanted to make an official presentation, and what better way than to have the President of Sevilla FC here. I wanted to thank all of the presidents that have led us to this point over the past 38 years. We are very excited to modify the organisation to the current, modern world. 'Sevillism' runs through our veins and we want this club, in Morón, to be a vocal point of where you can enjoy everything to do with Sevilla. It's good to see how our headquarters are filled to see our very own Sevilla".
President of the Morón Sporting Union, Antonio Castillo and the Sports Delegate, Antonio Rodríguez were also present.
The energy and drive of this new President was there for all to see as he said, that after the event has finished in the early hours of the morning, he had to start preparations for next day's work and for the next phase of this supporters' club.
