The centre half is into the quarter finals after Brazil went unbeaten in the group stage

Diego Carlos started for a third consecutive match at Tokyo 2020 as Brazil won 3-1 against Saudi Arabia. The centre half has played in every minute of the tournament so far for Jardine's side, and is a key part of their defence.

The win at the Saitama Stadium means that Brazil have qualified for the quarter finals as Group D winners, but they are yet to find out their opponents.
