ESCUDERO: 'THE FIRST HALF WAS EVEN, BUT AFTER THAT WE WERE THE BETTER SIDE'

Sergio Escudero commented on the win against Girona on Sunday: 'It's always important to get another three points at home. We did it once again and we're happy with the work and to stay up there in the table. We knew that they're a difficult opponent, a very tough and competitive team. The first half was very even but we were the better side in the second.'

Despite going close to scoring on Sunday, something that Escudero says 'isn't coming so easily this year', he is focusing more on the collective: 'We're having an excellent season. It's important to compete with the best and we're doing that. We have to try to maintain this streak and continue to stay up there. As the full-back says, 'it's a year of change, with the players, the coaching staff and the system to which we had to get used to. we've all adapted well and it's showing.'
