Since January 2019, Sevilla FC through Fernando Gallego, a member of the History Department, have been participating in the 'Football Makes History' project, which is sponsored by Euroclio: the European Association of History Educators. Other major collaborators include: Eintracht Frankfurt, the Romanian Football Federation, FARE Network, the Anne Frank House Foundation and the consultancy firm - Evenzo. Up until now, four different workshops have been carried out in different locations: Rotterdam, Bucharest, Frankfurt and most recently, Eindhoven. These meetings have been used to slowly get to grips with the content, which will then be developed and elaborated on by the designers of the project.
Amongst said designers/developers, there are Historians, Professors from both Schools and Universities, Professionals from the footballing world and workers from Non-Governmental Organisations. Their works will be based on events that have happened in the history of football, that can be used to promote social inclusion within young people. The topics covered will tackle subjects such as racism, violence, equality, nacionalism and identity, amongst others,
The organisation is already working on the development of a website that will be up and running in a few months, and it will contain some of the material that has already been developed. In addition to this, the content of the project can be accessed through: www.historiana.eu. The growth of the project will also coincide with two major footballing events: the European Championship 2020 and the UEFA Women's Championship 2021.
