JESÚS NAVAS CONTINUES TO BREAK RECORDS

Jesús Navas continues to shine in a Sevilla shirt. Not only with his assist to Youssef En-Nesyri to start the game off against Deportivo Alavés, adding another to his tally, but for his general win rate in Sevilla colours. In total, the Spaniard has won 50.9% of all matches with Sevilla, a number befitting of a Club legend.

Going into the stats, since Navas reached 500 matches for Sevilla against Athletic Club on 3 January last season, a tally that had already put him as the player with the most matches and wins in the Club's history, he has picked up 26 wins, 15 draws and only 9 defeats in the following 50 matches.

Of the last 50 matches, it's worth singling out the incredible run of 15 wins and 11 draws in the last 29 games of last season, with included a break for the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The break did not stop Navas in his stride as he contributed to the team winning their sixth Europa League in Cologne. No player deserved to hold the trophy high that night more than Jesús Navas, a fitting reward for all of his work at the Club.

There was little time to relax at the end of the 2019/2020 season, with the team returning to action after less than a month off on 15 September. Since then, Navas has played in 21 matches between the league and the Champions League - he is yet to feature in the Cup this season. In those 21 matches, he has picked up 11 wins and four draws. While there has been more defeats in this run, six, there is no reason to not look forward to the next games that 2021 holds, with Sevilla sitting strongly in the league, still in the Cup, and awaiting the Champions League Round of 16 against Borussia Dortmund in February.
