Juanlu Sánchez won an Olympic gold medal after Spain beat France. Having gone a goal down at the Parc des Princes to an early goal from Enzo Millot, Spain came from behind to lead at half- time thanks to a brace from Fermín López and a goal from Álex Baena. Juanlu came on in the second half where Maghnes Akliouche pulled one back for the hosts with 12 minutes to play. Jean-Philippe Mateta then sent the game to extra time with a last-gap penalty in stoppage time. It would be Spain however who would eventually emerge victorious with Sergio Camello scoring twice to seal the gold medal.

Juanlu Sánchez will return to Sevilla a gold medal winner from the Paris 2024 Olympics and scored the crucial winning goal in the semi-final against Morocco. After a brilliant individual tournament, Loïc Badé won a silver medal after playing the full 120 minutes in the final.
