Sevilla FC's manager, Julen Lopetegui, spoke to the media after the win over RCD Mallorca on Saturday afternoon: "Keeping a clean sheet is always a good thing. We didn't deserve the result that we got against Villarreal at home, we were hurt by it. We wanted to finish this year off well, by giving our fans something to smile about heading into the Christmas break. Once we return, as normal, we'll start thinking and preparing for Athletic".

On the other hand, the manager was asked about the refereeing decisions: "From the bench, the only thing you can do is pray because you don't know what's happening most of the time. At the end of the day, this is what VAR is for. Above all the decisions, I'm delighted with the attitude and the application of the boys. Despite the difficulties they faced, the boys kept going. Better and worse times are still to come, but the important thing is to not fall down and know how to lift yourself up. This is what the team has shown".

Lopetegui didn't want to evaluate the first half of the season: "We will evaluate the season at the end. Now, we've a few days to spend and enjoy with our families, and take our minds off football for a bit. We know that just around the corner, we've a massive match and we have to be prepared. It's a little break to catch our breath, so that we're ready to come back full throttle. We've got a massive match at the start of January against a great team in Athletic".

To finish off, the coach applauded the fans: "I would love to thank them all. I wish them all a happy holidays, and wish them happiness. I hope they enjoy the break, and we will try to do everything possible to make them proud of our team, because they deserve it. Whenever the bad moments come, they're always there for us."
