Sevilla FC coach Julen Lopetegui last night appeared on Cadena SER on the programme 'El Larguero' where he spoke with Manu Castaño about several topics on the white and reds. The coach started by highlighting that "Sevilla have given me more than I have given to them. I have given my best and I will continue to do so. There is great teamwork between the club and us. I feel an important part. My family have been welcomed in a marvellous way and this helps them to feel at home. I am very grateful and I will always be grateful to what Sevilla have been in my life and my career."

"I would be lying to you if I was to say anything to the contrary. They are moments that I appreciate greatly. I have felt the warmth from the fans since we arrived. We have had three very good and beautiful years but at the same time complicated and difficult because the expectation is so great. I think that we have always competed well and I have felt the warmth from people in the street which I always appreciate these moments of recognition. Also, I think that we have to step aside, accept responsibility for the negatives which are part and parcel of the job and the positives for the players who are the people that make us good coaches" was how Lopetegui referred to the chants of appreciation from the Sevilla fans.

"Monchi feels the club and the job in a way that we all try to understand"

On his relationship with the club's sporting director, Mochi, the Basque coach noted: "It is an absolute pleasure and honour to be coach of Sevilla and of course to work with Monchi is a huge experience. I am not going to completely understand how his job as sporting director works but I know how much he feels the clubs and the job in a way in which we all try to understand, which is important. Each club has its own uniqueness - the same as cities. It is important to try to understand his culture and background. All of this is important to be able to be the best version of yourself and Monchi has been very important for me."

The Sevilla coach finished by highlighting his happiness in being in the dugout in which he wants to be: "I want to reach the end of my contract and I have said that I am proud to be coach of Sevilla. I feel fully part of the club and happy to be at Sevilla and in Seville. There were things this summer as you know but we decided that where we wanted to be was in Seville and we are where we want to be and are very happy."
