'You can't commit the error of letting them score just after the sending-off'

Sevilla FC coach Julen Lopetegui discussed the defeat on Sunday evening in Villarreal: 'It's a big blow, a damning result. You analyse the game and the scoreboard has nothing to do with what you see. We played a great first half, one of the best this season, with up to seven chances on goal. But if you don't score, you can then end up conceding. The first goal was avoidable. The second goal came and then the sending-off. You have to compete even when things don't go your way and you need to make it to the end no matter what. Everything went against us today. The first half was really good, but it's difficult to say that when you've been beaten 4-0.'

'We had to try to either draw or win. You can't commit the error of letting them score straight after. With the offensive quality they have, their pace, it's very difficult and even more so a man down.'

'We will go into the last match with the intention of ending the season well and playing a good match. We will try and get the three points - that's what we want.'
