Julen Lopetegui, Sevilla FC manager, has given his pre-match press conference ahead of the side's next match against Deportivo Alavés at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán. The Basque manager spoke about Thursday's cup defeat and how it plays a role: "The team will try to do what they have to do. When you have a match three days later in the league, such an important competition, we all have to focus on the only aim, which is tomorrow's match against Alavés. The team have to get over the result on Thursday in order to focus on playing well tomorrow".
LOPETEGUI: "ALAVÉS ARE ONE OF THE MOST IMPROVED LALIGA SIDES"
"Alavés will force us to play well, we have to be ready"
Lopetegui is fully aware of the Alavés side that await Sevilla FC: "I think they are one of the most improved LaLiga sides and they have one of the best strike partnerships in the league, they're a good side with a good manager, they have improved a lot both defensively and on the attack, so logically, they will force us to play well and we have to be ready".
"Suso, además de calidad, tiene pata"
Lopetegui was also asked about new signing Suso: "He has trained twice, obviously it hasn't been normal with the recovery time and with today's session being a pre-match one. We'll see if he forms part of the squad. He brings us an individual quality, as well as quality he has a bite about him and he has to get used to the group dynamics. I'm sure he will bring us different things, he has good vision on the pitch, and a firm grasp of different aspects of the game. He's here to help us and I'm sure he will.
