Cuerpo Superior

The team suffered more than they expected, even more so than they did against Córdoba in the last round, as they secured progression to the last 32 of the Copa del Rey with a penalty shootout win over CE Andratx in Mallorca. Rafa Mir broke the deadlock in the second halfbut the hosts levelled soon after and neither side could find a winner. Munir could have sealed the win in normal time but hit the crossbar, before Luismi went close in extra time. During the shootoutDmitrovic saved Andratx's opening penalty before Óscar hit the postwith Sevilla winning in sudden death thanks to Gaspar's miss

In the first half at Sa Plana, Sevilla FC were unable to open the scoring, and, if anything, it was the hosts who had the more clear-cut chanceswith Dmitrovic denying a close-range header from a corner and Palmer having an effort deflected wide. As for Sevilla, they were only able to muster up chances in the form of shots from Rafa Mir and Munir, although they did not really trouble Vicenç. Juanlu also went close after a solo runbut he was denied by the keeper. The fourth-tier side were effective, and barely allowed the visitors to cause them serious problems.

Llabrés equalised after Rafa Mir's opener

Six minutes after the restart, Munir went close with a fine header from a corner kick. Sevilla came out revitalised after the break and did not take long to show that. In the 57th minutethe ball fell kindly for Rafa Mirwho made no mistake and beat Vicenç with a powerful shot to open the scoring in Sa Plana. Shortly after, Juanlu reached the byline and found Mir with a crossbut a defender stopped him from doubling the team's lead. Unfortunately, the match was far from over and Andratx showed that a few minutes later.

In the 65th minute, Llabrés equalised from a long-range free kick on the wingHe managed to lift his effort perfectly over the wall and kept the ball out of reach of Dmitrovic, who was unable to scramble across and stop the free kick. CE Andratx then had chances to take the lead, particularly through the goalscorer Llabrés, who forced Dmitrovic into making an important save. Lopetegui's side then went even closer, with a gilt-edged chance for Munir in the 90th minutebut he could only head onto the crossbar

Apart from Luismi's shot from outside the area, there were no chances in extra time and Sevilla won in the shootout

EXTRA TIME

Chances were few and far between in extra time and neither side were particularly close to breaking the deadlock. Luismi went closest with a long-range effort that went narrowly wide, but there were no opportunities of note afterwards and the tie went to a penalty shootout
