Gabi Mercado welcomed Sevilla FC's Official Media to his home after having been released from hospital this morning, where his fractured ulna in his right arm was successfully operated on.
The Argentine, still in pain, was anxious to get back onto the pitch: 'I'm feeling better, I'm still in some pain but I want to get back to work with my teammates and play football. I hardly slept the first night due to the pain and all the things that go through your head. With the painkillers I can rest a bit better but I'm not going to pretend that it's not sore.'
The centre-back explained how he felt when the injury happened and he expressed his disappointment in defeat: 'I went into shock because I couldn't move my arm and I realised something was out of place. I wasn't able to run and that was when I realised something wasn't in its right place.' It hurt me to lose the game but thankfully we play them again next year and I hope to be there.'
