Franco Vázquez is living the sweet life at the moment. A starter for Montella, he has managed to turn the discontent of Sevillistas to standing ovations. He was one of the guests one of the guests on A Balón Parado, emphasising the importance the of the Italian coach's influence: "When he arrived he told me told me he trusted me, that he already knew me and he knew what I could do; that I was an important player for the team".

“I'm feeling confident”

The message sunk in with the attacking midfielder and soon he started to offer his very best; though Vázquez also touched on his most difficult moments in a Sevilla shirt: "I'm not one for talking, I don't think too much, there are days where you don't sleep because you always try and do your best and help but sometimes things just don't go for you. I'm passionate about football, I'm a fan, I always watch matches from all leagues - above all because I like what I do but I think of football as a job, with a lot of seriousness".

Now he's seeing the other side of the coin, and Vázquez gave a full insight into what scoring against Leganés was like: "You feel emotion when the stands recognise your work. I'm feeling confident, having a lot of minutes is easy. I hope I can continue like this but it's easy to play just one or two good games, the difficult thing is maintaining it." On his stunning nutmeg on Amrabat: "You always try for it and this time it came off and it was great to experience. The goal was also beautiful because we were suffering and it was a goal that gave us calm and happiness to get to the final. In that moment I felt pure happiness".

“We'll play a great game against a great team”

He also talked about Maresca's importance since securing his transfer to Sevilla FC: "Maresca called me and told me Monchi was interested and had asked for my phone number. I knew I had to leave Palermo because of things that were happening I did not like. I needed something else - to fight for other objectives and I didn't think twice".

Finally he talked about the next two fixtures: "First we have to think about the Las Palmas game, then Manchester United come. It will be a beautiful match and I think we'll play a great match against a great team because we have our fans with us and that makes a difference. When you play as an away team in a stadium, it makes a difference, but even more here. It's something unique. It made an impact when I came here with Rayo".
