THREE-MATCH SUSPENSION FOR MONTIEL AFTER HIS DERBY DISMISSAL

The RFEF Competition Committee has confirmed a three-match suspension for Gonzalo Montiel after his red card in Sunday's El Gran Derbi.

His one-match suspension for the dismissal had already been confirmed, but he will be banned for a further two matches for "contemptuous or inconsiderate attitudes towards officials, directors or sporting authorities". 

As his suspension is less than four matches, he will only be suspended for league fixtures. This means he will miss Wednesday's match at home to Real Sociedad and the first two league matches after the World Cup: away at Celta de Vigo and at home to Getafe.
