After making history last Thursday by becoming the oldest player to play for the Spanish national team, Jesús Navas completed another spectacular campaign on Sunday. At 37 years of age and after lifting his seventh UEFA Europa League title in Budapest a few weeks ago, he has just won the UEFA Nations League in Rotterdam against Croatia. In doing so, he became the first player in history to win a World Cup, a European Championship and a Nations League. In a match that ended goalless after 120 minutes, a thrilling penalty shoot-out decided the title for Luis de la Fuente's side, with two saves from Unai Simón and the decisive spot-kick converted by Carvajal.

By the time of the shootout, Jesús Navas, who was back in the starting line-up, had already been substituted, leaving his place to Carvajal seven minutes into the first half of extra time. With this match, the player from Palacios won the 14th official trophy of his sporting career in what was also his 20th final. In 2022/23 he managed to finish the year with two trophies to his name, and in 2023/24 he will begin his quest for the 15th on his list, in Athens and against his former team, Manchester City.

Sevilla FC is also one of the few clubs to have had representatives in all five official trophies won by the Spanish national team. Paco Gallego was in the squad for Euro 1964, Andrés Palop was in the squad for Euro 2008, while at South Africa 2010 and Euro 2012 Jesús Navas was accompanied by Álvaro Negredo, and at this years Nations League he was the sole representative.
