All smiles on Saturday night after the 2-0 win against Espanyol, and that continued on El Partido on Sevilla FC TV. Rafa Mir was the first man up, and he was asked about his goal to seal the three points: "I'm happy with the goal but I'm even happier with how we played with 10 men, because it's noticeable when you've had a man sent off, and I think that you could really feel the fans' support, we're thankful for it". The striker then spoke about Delaney's red card: "It was a harsh sending off, but the team responded well, worked hard, fought hard, and we got three points, that's what's important, in terms of points we've had a perfect week and we must continue with this seriousness, ambition and motivation. We have another competition on Wednesday and we will go all-out to get the win, as we do in every match".
RAFA MIR, SUSO AND ACUÑA OFFER THEIR THOUGHTS ON THE WIN AGAINST ESPANYOL
Next up was Suso, who confirmed that he was "still in a bit of pain, but I really wanted to play today to not lose too much rhythm of being out on the pitch. I always said that I was desperate to play in front of the fans, because I only had a few matches here before the pandemic. Going down to ten men with a 1-0 lead gave us that push to get the second. The coach emphasises defending well, because with our players in attack we can always score. There's problems when you're down to ten men because the other team pushes up, but we played well and the fans drove us on". Now, time for the Champions League: "You never know how the match will be because the two teams know each other less and that's more difficult, but we're going into this with confidence, we're on a good run".
To finish, it was Marcos Acuña's turn: "It was a difficult match, even more so when you're a man down, but we have a very good squad and we were able to take the three points". The Argentine then spoke about the attacking aspect: "I played higher up the pitch and I work hard there too. We had to get those six points at home and we're happy that we did". To round off the interview, he thanked the fans: "It's much easier to player with fans. They help you back up when you fall and that's good. When I arrived, they weren't here, so I'm very happy that they're back".
