Sevilla FC Femenino kick off the season this Friday against UD Granadilla Tenerife. After a pre-season of continuous progression, Cristian Toro's side are looking for an early big boost against one of the teams who finished last season above the Blanquirrojas in the table.
Speaking to the official website, the Argentinian coach commented that "we are very excited about the start of the league and about playing in our stadium again. I think we had a good pre-season experimenting with different situations. We were able to win the Copa de Andalucía again, which is important. And we experienced situations that cost us but that helped us to acknowledge our weaknesses". When talking about the opposition and what he expects during the campaign, he highlighted the competitiveness of the F League: "Let's hope it will be a great season. We know that it's getting more and more competitive and harder to win. Granadilla is a team that has a great squad, with a lot of pace up front. They have a lot of experienced players. We want to start in the best possible way against a rival with such a level experience within the club."
The match, which opens the Liga F 2023/24, kicks off at 21:00 CEST at the Estadio Jesús Navas, with referee Zulema González González officiating proceedings. The team has done everything to prepare for the clash, but it should be noted that there are ongoing strikes which could result in the match being abandoned.
