This Tuesday saw Roque Mesa, Sevilla FC's recent signing, speak about his first impressions on arriving at the Club. Firstly, he discussed the negotiations that took place in the summer 2016 transfer window which almost saw his arrival Nervión, however, nothing materialized: "Things have been a long time coming...I am extremely happy with this new opportunity and new sporting challenge, especially because I've finally been able to seal the deal at Sevilla".
With regards to his time at Swansea, he acknowledged that the little playing time he had didn't hinder his growth as a player: "I didn't have the continuity that I needed, but my experience there allowed me to understand another side to football. Despite everything, I improved in a lot of areas and I want to expand on this knowledge in order to help the team".
The player is currently on loan with option to buy, but he prefers to not look too far ahead: "I want to finish the year well, to try and achieve the objectives that have been set and we'll just have to see what happens in the future". Additionally, the way football is experienced at the club is something that particularly caught the attention of the new arrival: "Sevilla is special in this sense. What attracts me most is the stadium and the fans, I want to experience first-hand what it's like to play a match here".
