Sevilla dominated the game and looked for a second to put distance between the two teams on the scoreboard. The first substitution of the game came with the first water break when Fernando came off due to some uncomfort. Lopetegui changed the team completely in the second half, giving eight academy players a chance. The team replicated the fast start to the first half after Carlos Álvarez was taken down on the edge of the box and Idrissi fired in the resulting free-kick.
Iván Romero notched a double
Far from resting on their laurels, Lopetegui's men went for more. Iván Romero, top scorer for the B side last year with 12 goals, tried his luck with a long-range strike which went wide. He would get his goal soon after though, making his argument to be involved with the first team. After a great assist from Carlos Álvarez, the forward did the rest. He would complete the scoring later with a chip over the onrushing goalkeeper Moore.
