This Thursday 22 November, Sevilla FC will make Pablo Blanco the 11th member of the club's Hall of Fame. Blanco joins a select group that consists of Juan Arza, José María Busto, Marcelo Campanal, Ignacio Achucarro, Antonio Valero, Paco Gallego, Enrique Lora, Curro Sanjosé, Antonio Álvarez and Enrique Montero, all of whom have been awarded the highest honour the club has been giving out to former players since 2009.
Pablo Blanco arrived at Sevilla in the 67/68 season. He started in the youth team under the instructions of Casto Ríos, beginning an unbroken run of five decades, as a player until 1984, and later as a member of the coaching staff and the director of Sevilla's youth system.
A true one-club man, the name Pablo Blanco has been etched in golden letters in the history of Sevilla FC for the bravery and dedication of his football, a true symbol of the values of virtue and courage that historically have defined the Nervión club. Blanco also has the honour of being the player with the second most official appearances for the first team, a total of 415, overtaken last campaign by Jesús Navas, one of his many discoveries as his time as the head of youth development.
