André Silva and Ben Yedder have scored a combined total of ten goals so far this season. One has to go back several seasons in order to find a similar goalscoring start to the league by strikers of Sevilla FC

Six league fixtures have been played so far and the goalscoring streak of Sevilla's strikers has been the most impressive it has been for many years. André Silva and Wissam Ben Yedder, who have ten goals between them, in recent games have become the true goalscoring leaders of a Sevilla team that have hit the back of the opposition net nine times in their last two league outings.

Pablo Machín opted to start with two out-and-out strikers in Valencia against Levante and the result was outstanding: four goals between the two of them. They say not to fix something that's not broken, and three days later the effect of the French-Portuguese duo as the spearhead of Sevilla's attack stayed red-hot with another three goals against Real Madrid, placing André Silva atop the La Liga goal-scoring chart after six games.

No strike partnership in recent campaigns has reached matchday six with the number of goals that Silva and Ben Yedder have. Vietto together with Ben Yedder himself managed five goals in the 2016/17 season, the same number that the partnership of Negredo and Kanouté managed in 2011/12. We have to go back to 2006/07 in order to find numbers that come close to the goals amassed by Sevilla's strikers. In that season Sevilla arrived at matchday six of the campaign with nine goals between their strikers, Luis Fabiano, Kanouté and Kepa Blanco, with Blanco scoring a hat-trick in the first fixture against Levante.

Pablo Machín's attacking approach allows their forwards to have plenty of chances during games, and so far they have made the most of them, converting them into goals and points for Sevilla. On Saturday against Eibar, there will be another opportunity to improve these numbers.
