GARCÍA PIMIENTA: "WE DROPPED TWO POINTS, WE CAME HERE LOOKING FOR THE WIN"

Head Coach García Pimienta spoke after his first official match in charge in the draw away to UD Las Palmas: "We dropped two points, we came here looking for the win. We took the lead twice and we created clear chances to get the three points. This is about scoring goals and not conceding. Defensively we should have been better. We only got one point. I'm happy with the attitude and the way we played. We need to be more solid defensively and be more accurate in front of goal."

On the new style of play, he highlighted the work done: "We know it's not easy. There has been a pre-season in which they have worked on concepts. The openness to learn is there and they believe. Today they came to a stadium with an opponent with direct play. We had more possession than them but it was difficult. I'm happy with the attitude, but we have to improve. Defensive errors cost us a lot." 

Finally, he expressed his excitement after returning to Gran Canaria and said he wanted to get the first home win on Friday against Villarreal CF: "It's emotional, I spent almost three seasons at a club where I felt very much at home. From the start we've been in competition mode, I would have loved to give the first victory to Sevilla fans. Hopefully, we can get the first win against Villarreal."
