1-1: A SHARE OF THE SPOILS BETWEEN SEVILLA ATLÉTICO AND BETIS DEPORTIVO

Antonio Hidalgo's men took the lead through Musa in a terrific first half performance, but were denied a victory by an equaliser from Sorroche in the last few minutes of the first half

Our Sevilla Atlético side continued their fine start to the season as they picked up another point in Sunday's derby against Betis Deportivo. Antonio Hidalgo's men dominated and went 1-0 up through Musa, but were denied victory at the Ciudad Deportiva Luis del Sol by a Sorroche goal just before the break. The second half was an equal affair, resulting in the points being shared between the city rivals.

From the start, we looked the more dangerous side as we quickly created the first clear chances in the match to score. Capi and Zarzana both had shots that tested Fran Vieites in a period of Sevilla domination. From the left-hand side, Oso found Atlético's top goal scorer with great cross, which was headed just over the bar in the best chance of the opening 15 minutes. Betis looked uncomfortable on the ball, with the main early chance coming via a Sorroche set piece.

With the game firmly in their hands, Musa gave us the lead, converting a cross from Zarzana, who did superbly to set up the goal from the left wing. Once going ahead, we were unable to put the game to bed as Zarzana couldn't finish off a chance created by Visus and Capi. As the first half draw to a close, a volley from Sorroche levelled the match, taking a deflection as it went in. 

Following the break, both teams threatened the opposition goal. Visus failed to finish another Sorroche free kick, leaving the game evenly poised. On the hour mark, Alberto Flores made a great save to deny Betis's Dani Pérez a winner. Hidalgo made attacking changes in an effort to secure a victory, but unfortunately fate was already sealed as the match finished in a draw. The point earned ensure our reserve team remains top of the division after five matches.
