2-1: SEVILLA FC WOMEN SECURE IMPRESSIVE VICTORY AWAY AT REAL SOCIEDAD

Sevilla FC Women secured an important 2-1 win away from home against Real Sociedad. It was not an easy game against a team that had already picked up 10 points from four home games this season. But María Pérez's 90+3rd minute winner meant that all three points would come back to Sevilla.

An even first half saw both sides have chances to take the lead. Martín-Prieto and Cahynová had early chances for Sevilla before Mirari had a golden opportunity for the home side, but a great save by Sullastres meant that Real Sociedad could only get a corner. Before half time, good work by Rosa Otermín and Inma Gabarro almost found a breakthrough for Sevilla FC Women, but it remained goalless at the break. Despite not creating that many close chances, Sevilla seemed to have control of the play.

Early in the second half there was a game-changing incident. Jacqueline was sent off in the 52nd minute for a second bookable offence. Two minutes later, Inma Gabarro put the away side ahead following good work on the right-hand side. The goal spurred on Cristian Toro's side who, with Gemma Gili coming off the bench, came close to doubling the lead. But Real Sociedad came back into the game and equalised two minutes before the end of time through substitute Jensen.

Maria Pérez's late strike secured three important points

Maria Pérez scored the winner after 90+3 minutes to spark crazy celebrations in the away dug out. A corner fell to Pérez on the right side of the box, who then unleashed a powerful shot into the bottom left corner. Her first goal of the season secured three important points for Toro's side, who have now won back-to-back matches. Their next fixture is El Gran Derbi Femenino, against Real Betis at the Estadio Jesús Navas.
