Sevilla Atlético continued their strong form as they convincingly beat CD Alcoyano on Saturday to remain. The team grew into the game, improving as the match went on, and in the second half, they shifted into a higher gear to defeat the team from the Alicante region. Hormigo's header opened the scoring before two excellent counter-attacks, finished by Pascual, sealed the victory. As if that wasn’t enough, Alberto Flores once again stood out despite Alcoyano rarely testing him, saving a penalty in the final minutes, adding another clean sheet to the team's record.

The match began very evenly, with Alcoyano keeping their lines tight and preventing Sevilla Atlético’s main attacking threat, Ibra Sow, from finding space. Ibra had the first opportunity before the ten-minute mark, but his shot was too close to the goalkeeper Jaume. Around the half-hour mark, Ibra had another chance, this time going on a run from midfield before facing Alcoyano's goalkeeper one-on-one. However, Jaume guessed right and saved with his foot to keep the scores level. Almost immediately after, Miguel Sierra had an attempt from the edge of the box, but his shot was blocked by Undabarrena.

Alcoyano had their only notable attempt of the first half with a shot from former Sevilla player Lara, but it was comfortably dealt with by Alberto Flores, who was once again very reliable in goal. At the start of the second half, Sevilla Atlético moved up a gear and were ahead within five minutes of the restart. A strong run down the left wing, a brilliant cross from Miguel Sierra, and a well-placed header from Hormigo, which beat Jaume’s attempt to close the angle, made it 1-0. The second goal almost came soon after, but Ibra was flagged offside after another attempt. Miguel Sierra also came close to scoring, but it was Pascual who put the game beyond doubt. He scored a brace in the final 15 minutes to ensure a comfortable finish to the game. His first goal came after a great pass from Lulo, which Pascual calmly finished with his right foot, and the second came after another counter-attack, where he made no mistake in a one-on-one with Jaume. Alberto Flores then joined in on the action, saving a penalty from Pastrana to secure his tenth clean sheet in the last 13 matches. The team will next travel to Fuenlabrada next Sunday.
