Marcão and Isaac both answered the media's questions following the 2-0 defeat to Girona FC. Captain on the day, Marcão started, "We're disappointed, we want to win games and it's hard to take because overall we played well but we made too many mistakes. We will continue working hard and the points will come. We started the game strongly before they scored with practically their first attack. In the second half we were a bit short of fitness, but that wasn't a penalty in my opinion. We'll have to right the wrongs. It was a proud moment wearing the captain's armband but we need to win games. We now have a while to rest and get back to our best before our next league game."

Isaac added, "We clearly dominated the first half and created plenty of chances, but we took a step backwards in the second. I missed a few chances myself but it will come. They scored with their first chance of the game but that's football; we tried to give everything out there on the pitch. Personally I think VAR should only intervene in clear and obvious mistakes, but I don't think that was the case today." Our striker then discussed the importance of adaptation, stating, "I work as hard as I can to earn my spot on the team but I have to adapt to many different scenarios. We now have a nice break in which we can focus on a mental reset and come back stronger, hopefully winning for the fans."
