History and standings
Although other clubs were formed in Olot at the start of the 20th century, Olot FC in their current form were founded in 1921. At the end of the 1950s, they were promoted to the Tercera división (third tier), although at the start of the 21st century they were back playing in the regional leagues. The club were promoted to the Tecera (then the fourth tier) in 2011/12 and then reached Segunda B (third tier) a year later. Since then the club has played in both Segunda B and now Segunda Federación (fourth tier) during the past decade. Currently they are 14th in group 3, on 16 points from 14 games.
Cup journey
They booked their place in the Copa del Rey after winning group 5 of the Tercera Federación last season, gaining direct entry. In the first round they played Córdoba CF and after going 1-0 down they equalised through Roberto Peñalver to force extra time. After no goals in the extra 30 minutes, it came down to penalties with the home side winning 4-3 to reach the second round.
Team news
We travel with a 24-man squad which includes goalkeeper Nyland although as Pimienta confirmed in his press conference Álvaro will start. Reserve team defender Andrés Castrín is also included. Lokogna has not traveled due to a slight strain, with Nianzou and Ejuke out with long-term injuries.
