Classic meeting

LaLiga Santander Matchday 28

20 March 2021

Estadio Municipal José Zorrilla

Ahead of kick off we sat in fourth place looking to consolidate our advantage over Real Sociedad in the battle for Champions League football. Meanwhile the hosts found themselves in 16th place and just three points above the relegation zone. However, it was Real Valladolid who took the lead just a minute before the break after Fabián Orellana scored from the spot. As the game ticked into the 94th minute and still trailing by a goal to nil, goalkeeper Bono went forward as Julen Lopetegui played one last role of the dice, the Moroccan ending up curling in a dramatic late goal to rescue a point. Watch the highlights of that match here.
