The club is once again set to take part in the LALIGA x Bloomsbury Football project which helps to support youth football and local communities in the United Kingdom and ensure that children from all backgrounds in London have access to play.
The partnership enables LALIGA and its clubs, together with the LALIGA FOUNDATION, to continue to support the pioneering work of Bloomsbury Football, which currently involves more than 5,000 young people in London each week. Through the partnership, Sevilla FC, LALIGA and Bloomsbury Football organise tournaments for youth players in North London, while the LALIGA FOUNDATION also contributes to improving the skills of Bloomsbury Football team members through training focused on promoting the positive values of football and their application in everyday life and using sport as a tool for social inclusion. Increasing access to football is a key aim of the project and bursaries are awarded to 45 boys and girls to enable them to participate in the program.
Since its official launch in mid-2022, the impact of this programme has been significant, having welcomed more than 200 participating players to date. Sevilla FC, as well as other LALIGA clubs have continued to lend their support, with a record number of participants taking part in the initiative this season. Past highlights include the attendance of former Spanish women's international Vicky Losada at last year's Escuelas Femeninas finals day and a visit from club legend Frédéric Kanouté.
To help the programme's growth for the 2024/25 season, CVC, through the CVC foundation, will be involved. This season will feature two mixed weekend tournaments in two North London locations, plus a girls-only competition through a partnership with local schools as part of both organisations' ongoing commitment to grow the women's game.
In addition to Sevilla FC, 15 other LALIGA teams are participating this season, setting a new record number of participating clubs, and over the next few months local boys and girls will proudly wear the shirts of Athletic Club, Atlético de Madrid, CA Osasuna, CD Tenerife, CD Leganés, Deportivo Alavés, Granada CF, Racing Club de Ferrol, RC Celta, RC Deportivo, RCD Espanyol, Real Racing Club Santander, SD Eibar, Sevilla FC, UD Las Palmas and Valencia CF.
