The first team returned to work on Sunday following the Christmas break, as they embark on a full week of training to prepare for the first official match of 2025. This will take place Saturday 4 January, at 17:30 CET, when we head to the UD Almería Stadium in the Round of 32 of the Copa del Rey. Xavi García Pimienta will be hoping to have at least two more players available for selection for that upcoming cup tie as Adrià Pedrosa and Valentín Barco, who, having overcome their respective ailments, returned to full training with the group.

Jesús Navas, who will be making his farewell appearance in front of a packed Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán on Monday, did not, of course. Also absent from the Sunday session were Isaac Romero - who was experiencing some muscle discomfort - and Kelechi Iheanacho, who suffered a flight delay which prevented him from arriving in Sevilla in time for the session. The session was attended by our former goalkeeper Tomáš Vaclík who is back in the city to attend Monday's event.
