THE U11 A TEAM WIN THE FARO INTERNATIONAL CUP

The final was won on penalties against Atlético Madrid, having defeated Real Betis in the quarterfinals and Chelsea in the semis

This week Sevilla FC U11 A became the champions of the prestigious Faro International Cup. The team enjoyed a successful few days in the Algarve playing in the 7-a-side competition; next year they will start playing 11-a-side. Víctor Feijoo's side progressed from the group stage after beating host team Sporting Lisbon two goals to one.

The quarterfinal match against Real Betis was won on penalties following a 1-1 draw thanks to Óliver's goal. The semifinals saw Sevilla beating tournament favourites Chelsea 3-2 with goals from Francés, Óliver and Herrero. The trophy was lifted after another win on penalties following a 0-0 draw, beating Atlético Madrid. Goalkeeper Rodrigo was the hero, making two great saves to deny Atlético.
