ORTA, SPEAKING ABOUT BARCO: "HE WAS THE BEST OPTION ON THE MARKET"

Víctor Orta spoke to the press during Valentín Barco's official presentation. First, our Sporting Director spoke about the young Argentine full-back. "We are very happy with Valentín. He is a player that we have been following for a while because he absolutely fits our style of play. He plays with a lot of maturity despite only being 20 years old and has experience in the Premier League. He's a great player, the best option on the market."

He was also asked about Joan Jordán, whose loan move to Deportivo Alavés was confirmed last night. "We all wish Joan the best of luck at Alavés. They showed a lot of interest in him so hopefully it works out well for him. But I'm very happy with the squad that we have so we'll see if anything else happens before the transfer window shuts." Orta also spoke about Loïc Badé and Lucas Ocampos, revealing, "Right now, at 13:45 CEST, we have not received any worthwile offers. There's still time left before the market closes but nothing has satisfied our demands so far." The journalists then asked him about Gonzalo Montiel and Pedro Ortiz, to which he responded, "Montiel is currently a Sevilla FC player while Pedro's situation is a little complicated. We're trying to sort our registration with LaLiga."

"We will judge the performances and not the transfer market"

He then went on to explain that there is no specific number of signings and departures that he's aiming for. "I'm not a big fan of judging transfer markets. What's important is to win games and pick up points. We feel that we have less points than perhaps what we deserve but hopefully we win on Sunday. We will judge the performances and not the market." With regards to the Head Coach, he indicated, "He's said that he's happy so that's that. My job is to help the Head Coach, so if he's happy then I'm happy."

Finally, he commented on the efficiency of the transfer market, stating, "I have tried, alongside my team and the President, to work closely with the Head Coach and take everything day by day. We've made signings that have arrived quickly and got stuck in straight away. We're very happy across the board; we've successfully brought in new players. And I'm very happy that all players suit the coach's style of play. I'd also like to reveal that Antonetti will join the club."
